She had every intention of finally having her long sought-after happily ever after ending with the man she loved, only for him to be cruelly ripped away--and now, Anna (Finola Hughes) will be out for revenge on General Hospital.

The Mob Wars Threaten To Heat Up

She and Duke (Ian Buchanan) were finally going to run away together and not let the fact that he was in the mob and she was a cop keep them apart any longer--when the Jerome organization's planned hit on Duke proved to be a success, with Duke dead and Carlos (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) planning to leave town. Now, a mourning Anna will be devastated--though she will get some unexpected consoling from her sworn enemy--Dr. Obrecht (Kathleen Gati)--in the process.

"It's time to let Duke go," she says to Anna in a preview clip for the Tuesday, May 12 episode.

Duke Dies After Being Shot

Now, Anna will find the steely resolve to seek justice on the ones she knows are responsible for the man she loved being ripped away from her for good--and she could very well start with Julian (Michael DeVry), who she warned would pay if something awful happened to Duke.

Sure enough Julian could pay dearly for the crime--once again losing Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) because she wants nothing to do with him if he's still working illegally.

"If you have something to say, say it," Julian says to Alexis in the clip.

However, Anna won't be the only one out seeking revenge. Shawn (Sean Blakemore) has been purposely made to believe the attempted hit on Jordan (Vinessa Antoine) was also a Jerome ordered hit--and now, he will be determined to find some way to make sure the other crime organization pays for not only trying to kil the woman he loves, but succeeding in getting his boss killed.

"We can't walk away from this," Shawn says in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
