Fans of the actor were delighted to see the return of Mathias, based on the replies to the photo.

"I'm so glad!" one follower wrote.

"Claps!" another said.

"MATHIAS!!!!!! I was wondering when he would show up again!! XD Truly one of the greatest," a third wrote.

McClarnon has previously appeared in nine episodes of Longmire. He guest starred in three episodes of season 1, two episodes of season 2 and four episodes of season 3.

The cast and crew of Longmire are nearing the end of production on the show's fourth season. Netflix picked the show up for a 10-episode fourth season after A&E cancelled it last year. The Western was actually the highest-rated scripted show on the whole network but its adults 18-49 demographic was too low for A&E to keep it around.

The fourth season of Longmire is set to be released in full on Netflix in the fall, though the site has not yet announced a specific release date. The first three seasons are currently available to stream on Netflix.
