Fans got a chance to catch the first glimpse of Reese Witherspoon's six-week old son this week.

Paparazzi photographers snapped Withersoon, 36, and her new bundle of joy, Tennessee James Toth, as mother and son ran errands in California on Wednesday.

Unlike some celebrity mothers, Witherspoon made no effort to hide Tennessee's face from the photographers. Instead, she cradled him in her arms and let the sun wash over him as she pushed him around in a stroller.

Witherspoon looked casual in jeans and a denim shirt, topped off with sunglasses and her blonde locks pulled back into a ponytail. Her new baby showed off the few hairs he has and wore a navy blue and green outfit perfect for a little boy's day out.

Tennessee was born on Sept. 27 in Santa Monica, Calif. He was the first child for Witherspoon and her husband, 41-year-old Jim Toth, but the third overall for the actress, who  has two children from her marriage with actor Ryan Phillippe, son Deacon and daughter Ava.

Toth is a senior talent agent with Creative Artists Agency, and he also works as one of the two heads of the agency's motion picture department. He met Witherspoon in January 2010, just after her breakup with Jake Gyllenhaal, and the couple married in March 2011.

Witherspoon is most famous for her roles in films like romantic comedy "Sweet Home Alabama," high school satire "Election" and possibly her most iconic part, the ditzy legal whiz Elle Woods in "Legally Blonde."

She also won an Academy Award for Best Actress in 2005 for her portrayal of June Carter Cash, the wife of Johnny Cash, in "Walk the Line."
