Bilson’s latest role as Zoe Hart on The CW series gained her lots of popularity with fans. Many were distraught after the show announced it wouldn’t be coming back for a fifth season. Her co-star, Jaime King, who played Zoe’s arch nemesis turned friend Lemon Breeland, said that Bilson’s pregnancy played a huge part in the future of the series.

She told E! News earlier this year, “It’s a tricky situation because it really isn’t about ratings for us. It’s not like a ratings issue it was more of a timing issue. Rachel Bilson got pregnant and wanted to take a maternity leave. Every woman has a right to do that. I think that everything has an impact on the way things are decide upon. It’s very interesting because our fans are so devoted.”
