Square Enix showed of a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3 at its E3 press conference today, demonstrating more in-game action to the series' ravenous fans.

Watch The Trailer For The New Star Wars: The Old Republic Expansion

The third game in the series has been anxiously anticipated for a long time, with no main entry in the story since the release of Kingdom Hearts 2 in 2005. Though special editions of KH2 have been released since then, as well as multiple (bizarrely named) spin-offs and side adventures on various systems, a true sequel to the main line of games has been a long-time coming.

We saw the debut and first gameplay a while back, but the game took center stage for part of today's conference again. The new footage consists almost entirely of gameplay clips, with a cutscene discussing the game's keyblade war bookending the start and finish of the video. This will remain spoiler free for anyone who may want to avoid details, though the avid fans of this series won't likely be able to turn down the offer of real in-game footage.

There's plenty to glean from the trailer for those scouring for story details, and the gameplay is looking good. This is the eight game numerically in the franchise even though it's the third main entry, and it will be the first to appear on more than one console--it will release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on an unannounced date.
