Shakira might be preparing herself to enter the world of motherhood but that doesn't mean that she has forgotten about her fan base.

The Columbian singer tweeted "a little message" to her 18.7 million followers last week.

"Thanks for all the supportive and affectionate messages you've been sending to me over these past couple of weeks," Shakira said in a 20-second long video. "I'm very excited to see you all again soon and for you to hear my new music. I'm sure 2013 is going to be a great year for all of us. Un besito. And take care."

2013 is indeed going to be a great year for Shakira. She is set to replace Christina Aguilera for the fourth season of NBC's "The Voice." The Columbian performer also revealed in September that she and her Spanish soccer star boyfriend Gerard Pique, 25, are expecting a baby boy.

Spanish media webstite elnuevodia.com reported that Shakira and Pique will name their son Biel.

According to the report, Pique chose the name Biel for his son and got the approval from the singer.

"Biel is of Catalan origin and is a diminutive to Gabriel," according to the Spanish website. "It is a name of biblical origin and means 'servant of the Lord.' "

This might mean that the singer will baptize her first child. Prior reports suggested that the couple were going to name their son Ulysses.

Shakira surfaced onto the international pop scene in 2006 with hits like "Whenever, Wherever" and "Hips Don't Lie." The two-time Grammy award-winning artist signed on with Jay Z's Roc Nation in early 2012 to produce her latest album. The Columbian artist is also expected to go on a promotional tour next year.
