Metro caught up with Michelle Rodriguez, who plays Letty in the Fast and Furious series, and had her dish some on her hopes for the next movie.

The Wire's Idris Elba To Join Fast and Furious 8?

When asked to address to the rumors about Eva Mendes returning as Agent Fuentes for the Furious 7 sequel, the actress was very wary about such speculation, and suggested that fans should take everything with a pinch of salt until production for the movie begins. More interestingly Mendes was rooting for a greater ideal of feminism in Fast and Furious 8.

"I think that first off, girls should stop fighting each other and we should start uniting for once," she said. "That's how I feel about that. Secondly, I think that everything is speculation until we actually shooting and we're immortalising stuff on film."

Furious 7 Should Win Best Picture Oscar, According To Vin Diesel

The actress did caution that the movie shouldn't become overly feminist so as to lose a large swathe of the audience and be labelled in any way.

"I think it's cute but you do lose a lot of audience when you specialise like that. It's kind of like a black organisation or Latino organisation making content just for Latinos or blacks. It's stupid. You know what I mean?" she said.

Her suggestion was a more holistic approach, citing Mad Max as an example.

"If I were ever to do it, I think you have to be all encompassing. You have to think holistically and look for the broader audiences. And I don't like hating on guys to make women powerful," she said. "I think you can do both. Mad Max is proof of that."

Fast and Furious 8 will be released on April 15, 2017.

Furious 7 hit theaters on April 3, 2015.
