The eldest Mason boy has long been an adult, and season 4's ghetto resistance proved that Hal (Drew Roy) is ready to be a leader in his own right. As the final season wears on, viewers can expect to see Roy's character taking maters into his own hands on the regular.
Episode 3, "Hatchlings," will see Hal disobey his father's orders in an effort to help the girl he loves (see video below).
"[In Season 1 Hal] was just this hotheaded kid who would pretty much do anything his dad said. But in the past season and this season, I think he's finally found his confidence," Roy informed TV Line. "He has his own opinion about things. So, just because his dad is saying something or trying something, it doesn't mean he's necessarily going to go along with it."
It remains to be seen if Hal's rouge decisions will help or hinder the 2nd Mass.
