In the late 1990s, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell enthralled children with their hit sitcom on Nickelodeon titled "Kenan and Kel."

In the years since the show went off the air, nostalgic fans have hoped for a reunion of some sort, especially as Kenan attained continued fame as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live."

But it seems a "Kenan and Kel" reunion is not very likely, as the two actors have not sustained a relationship. Not only are they not in touch, but Kenan wants nothing to do with his former cast mate, according to a new report from TMZ.

"The truth is Kenan does not want to be seen with me in any form of media, or even have my name mentioned around him," Kel told the celebrity gossip website.

TMZ reached out to Kel after news broke that Kenan is developing a new sitcom for himself. Thompson is developing the series, a single camera comedy, for NBC along with Lorne Micheaels, who produces "Saturday Night Live."

"The 34-year-old actor would play a married New Yorker called Kenan Monroe who gives up his city life to move in with his in-laws in the suburbs. Presumably, generational comedy would ensue from there," according to a report from CNN.

But when TMZ asked Kel if he would be appearing in Kenan's new sitcom, Kel had to give a firm denial, based on Kenan's feelings toward him.

"I have not been upset about this. I respect his choice of wanting to make a name for himself solo," Kel said. "There is no bad blood on my side, I'm not declining a reunion, I know the fans love the show and would love to see some type of appearance with us ... I just don't see that ever happening because of how he really feels."
