There has been a decent amount of news regarding the development of Transformers 5 -- the team of writers has been revealed and Michael Bay's return has strongly been hinted at.

Could A Transformers Sequel Be Set In Cybertron With New Characters?

But other than Mark Wahlberg's confirmed return there hasn't been a squeak about the rest of the cast for the Age of Extinction sequel. The fact that Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor's reprisals haven't been addressed at all over this long period of time gives us reason to believe that the young actors might actually have been dropped from the sequel. The star power of Wahlberg is undeniable so his inclusion is understandable. Interestingly enough, with Age of Extinction the franchise brought in an established actor as part of the main cast. Before this, the movies had stuck with fresh faces, like Megan Fox and Shia LeBeouf, but it seems like the gamble didn't pay off with Peltz and Reynor.

So could this mean that Transformers 5 will get new actors, and perhaps established names at that? The rich team of writers that are currently working on Transformers 5 and possible sequels and prequels for the series, hint at the scale and ambition of this phase for the franchise. To compliment the celebrity writers the movies have got on board, some new A-list actors would make the cut.

Will Megan Fox Join The Age of Extinction Sequel?

The writing team is being led by Akiva Goldsman, and features Christina Hodson (The Fugitive), Lindsey Beer (Dig), Zak Penn (The Incredible Hulk), Jeff Pinker (Lost), Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man), Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man), Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.

Transformers: Age of Extinction hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
