5 Seconds of Summer's drummer has been quite mum on his relationship status with Bryana Holly for the last few months despite many jumping to the conclusion that he is definitely more than her friend due to the time they spend together.

Ashton Irwin and his bandmate Michael Clifford recently chatted with Rolling Stone about their newly released single "She's Kinda Hot," in which Irwin might have slipped he is dating the blonde model.

Irwin explained how writing the summer rock jam came about.

It turns out he went on a desert date with his lady (Bryana Holly perhaps?), but made it clear he needed to be back in time for a writing session since he is dedicated to his band.

"I went into the desert with my girlfriend at the time for two days or something, and I was like 'Okay, I have to be back by Monday morning because I have a writing session at John's [Feldmann],'" Irwin said.

He did say "with my girlfriend at the time" so maybe now they are just friends, but "at the time" they were more and she has been the only girl consistently linked to the drummer whenever he is out in California.

Previously Irwin has claimed he is single since being in the band makes it difficult to flourish a serious relationship, but now that seems to have been a bit of a lie considering he was only writing and recording for this next 5SOS album a few months ago.
