Houser had a restraining order again him in 2008 from his wife at the time. Louisiana State Police Col. Michael Edmonson revealed she "was fearful of him [and] his daughter was fearful of him."

The shooter unloaded at least 13 shots in the Louisiana theater before taking his own life.

KLFY News reported Thursday night that the shooter self-inflicted a gunshot wound, which resulted in his death, according to Lafayette Police Chief Jim Craft.

He also killed two others; 21-year-old Macyi Breaux, 21, who died on scene and 33-year-old Jillian Johnson, who died at the local hospital.

Other moviegoers suffered from injuries too.

The police are still investigating why he was in Louisiana since he was described as "a drifter" and they discovered in his Motel 6 room that he had various disguises, including many wigs. Houser also swapped license plates on his Lincoln Continental.

What should have been a hysterical outing for the moviegoers turned deadly and many questions still linger, but Schumer did send her condolences to those involved in the shooting via Twitter once she heard of the situation.

"My heart is broken and all my thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Louisiana," she tweeted.
