Things have gone from bad to worse for Bobby Shmurda.

Rumor About Bobby Shmurda Dying Gets Cleared Up

On Friday, Vulture discovered that while the rapper remains behind bars facing a number of charges, he might get more jail time following an alleged weapon incident with his girlfriend. The site mentioned that last Thursday, Shmurda plead not guilty to felony and misdemeanor charges of perjury, prison contraband and criminal possession of a weapon.

These charges come from a situation last month when the rapper's girlfriend, Kimberly Rousseau, allegedly tried to sneak him a "sharp metal object" while she was visiting him. She apparently plead not guilty to promoting prison contraband.

Bobby Shmurda's Lawyer Speaks Up On Trial, 'I Know What We're Up Against'

A trial for Shmurda is expected to happen on October 5. Some of the charges he faces include conspiracy to commit murder, weapons and drug charges. If he is convicted for this, he could go to prison for 25 years. But with the alleged weapon smuggling incident, he could face an extra seven years behind bars. The trial for this situation is supposed to take place on October 14.

Shmurda's attorney Kenneth Montgomery previously spoke to BET about why the trial got extended from June to October.

"There's 13 defendants in the conspiracy case, each of them charged with different underlying charges and conduct and the government just ordered swabs from the guy and it takes time to get the swabs done, DNA wise," Montgomery said. "There's other issues and more discoveries to come, so I suspect on the 25 that the case is going to be adjourned for some time, which is more realistic going forward."
