Actor Fred Savage is most widely known for his role as the pint-sized junior high school student Kevin Arnold from "The Wonder Years," but he's come a long way since then - all the way to fatherhood.

Savage starred on "The Wonder Years" back in the late 1980s, but today he is 36 years old and has just welcomed his third child into the world, according to a report from The Los Angeles Times.

Savage is the father to a new son, but the actor has not yet revealed the baby's name or even exactly what day he was born.

While some celebrities have taken to announcing the birth of their children in extravagant and opulent ways, Savage took a modest approach. He posted a photo to his Instagram account that features a close up look at his new son's tiny hand and nothing more. He stuck to that simplicity with the caption as well, writing only, "He's here."

The child is the third for Savage and his wife, Jennifer Lynn Stone. The couple's two other children are 6 year old son Oliver and 4 year old daughter Lily.

This week has been a big one for not only Fred Savage, but also his actor brother Ben Savage, who rose to fame as Cory Matthews on the 1990s hit sitcom "Boy Meets World."

Disney confirmed this week that a sequel for the iconic sitcom "Boy Meets World" is in the early stages of preproduction. The show, "Girl Meets World," will focus on the daughter of Cory and Topanga, the protagonists of the original series, and stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel will return for the new show.

Savage, who played Cory, confirmed the news through his Twitter account, writing, "I'm going to be a father! Well, on TV at least. The 'Boy Meets World' sequel is officially happening!"
