News has recently dropped that Enzo (Michael Malarkey) will be musical in the upcoming season of The Vampire Diaries, similar to how Candice Accola has shown off her musical abilities through Caroline.

Michael Malarkey Will Bring His 'Musical Talents' To 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7!

Malarkey knows how to sing and play guitar, but it seems as though the entertainer will only be showing off his guitar playing skills in the seventh season of the supernatural show.

While at San Diego Comic-Con with his castmates, Malarkey opened up to BuddyTV about Enzo's musical talents.

In the video below, Malarkey said that Enzo "plays guitar, which is an interesting level of character," noting, "it's nice to have some backstory."

Enzo just plays "when he's sitting around" according to Malarkey.

"Playing guitar kind of adds another level of not sympathy, but something like sympathy for the character," Malarkey shared.

Enzo has always been a bit of an outcast in a sense, but his musicality will give him more depth.

Plus, it is probably safe to speculate that his forthcoming flashfoward with his romantic interest could lead to a beautiful serenade as he plays his guitar considering The Vampire Diaries does romance well!

He could also show off his musical talents by playing how he feels in regard to the brewing war between Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Stefan (Paul Wesley) and their mother Lily (Annie Wersching) and her heretic family. Enzo could very well need an outlet for his heightened emotions since he's caught between the two sides.

The series returns to The CW in the fall for season 7.
