Jordan Spieth Opens Up On Thrilling Encounter With A Shark

On Sunday, Dallas News reported that Spieth's parents and sister attended the big day where his father had plenty to say about his son's hard work. Annie Verret, who's been dating the golfer, was apparently there too although she managed to keep away from prying eyes.

While Verret was able to keep herself in a private zone, Spieth's dad, Shawn, talked about how proud he is of his son for not only his ethics at Whistling Straits, but for showing class when he didn't win.

Did Annie Verret Help Jordan Spieth Boost His Confidence?

"I think he's handled it fabulously," Shawn said. "It hurts to be that close.

"But things bounced right for him at the U.S. Open," Shawn continued. "We got a break or two or three on Sunday and that's the way golf goes. I think if you win two majors in a year, you can't ask for much more going into a year."

Even though it might've been a close call for Jordan, his dad pointed out that there are more opportunities in the future to make it to the top.

"That's the beauty of the game," Shawn said. "To be that close in the other two, it stings, but it motivates you to keep going. He'll be looking forward to trying to finish the year and winning the FedEx Cup."
