Two day after her nude wardrobe malfunction at a premiere of "Les Miserables," Anne Hathaway talked about the incident with Matt Lauer on "The Today Show" Wednesday.

The actress flashed photographers at the New York City premiere of her new film on Tuesday night as she stepped out of her car. She then reportedly told Vanity Fair writer Ingrid Sischy that the malfunction was "devastating."

Lauer welcomed the newlywed onto the set of "The Today Show" and said, "Anne Hathaway, good morning, nice to see you. Seen a lot of you lately," with which she answered, "Sorry about that. I'd be happy to stay home, but the film."

Right after she sat down for her interview, Lauer got straight to the point and said, "Let's just get it out of the way."

"You had a little wardrobe malfunction the other night," he continued. "What's the lesson learned from something like that, other than that you keep smiling, which you'll always do."

The 30-year-old first said it was "obviously an unfortunate event" and then continued to respond with the following:

"It kind of made me sad on two accounts. One was that I was very sad that we live in an age when someone takes a picture of another person in a vulnerable moment, and rather than delete it and do the decent thing, sells it.

"And I'm sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies sexuality of unwilling participants, which brings us back to 'Les Mis,' because that's what the character [Fantine] is. She is someone who is forced to sell sex to benefit her child because she has nothing and there's no social safety net so yeah."

With that, Hathaway veered the attention of the interview back to the film, which comes out in theaters on Dec. 25. Hathaway plays in the film the role of Fantine, a dying prostitute and mother stricken with tuberculosis. The film also stars Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen and a slew of other acclaimed actors.

Hathaway guest starred on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" on Tuesday but made no mention of the incident. Instead she spoke about her holiday plans, being married and the film adaptation of the Broadway musical. Watch the video of her interview here
