On Friday, People shared a photo of the Nickleback rocker as he stepped out in Los Angeles earlier this week. It turns out that he wasn't wearing his wedding ring, giving the impression that he's ready to take the next step in his life now that he and Avril Lavigne are ending their marriage.

Avril Lavigne Gives More Insight On How She Fought Lyme Disease

Lavigne announced that she and her husband of two years are calling it quits in an Instagram post.

"It is with heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today," the singer wrote in the caption. "Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments."

She added that she and Kroeger still remain friends and care very deeply for each other.

In a previous post from E! News, an insider mentioned that there will be no bad blood for the ex-couple. It seems that things just didn't work out the way they wanted them to.

"Chad is being supportive," the source said. "At the end of the day, they just didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things...their friends and their circles never really mixed."

This was Kroeger's first marriage and Lavigne's second. She was previously married to Deryck Wibley for four years.
