A former member of ZAG will be returning to Nashville, but it won't be for good reasons.

Is Deacon Going To Die For Only So Much Time On 'Nashville?'

On Friday, Entertainment Weekly announced that Zoey Dalton (Chaley Rose) is going to be making an appearance in the fourth season of the ABC drama. As the former girlfriend of Gunnar and the childhood bestie of Scarlett, Zoey is expected to return for at least one episode...but why?

"Tragedy brings Zoey back to Nashville," executive producer Dee Johnson said. "But will crossing with Gunnar tempt her to stay?"

That's a good question since Gunnar still has the romantic tension with Scarlett. There is also the matter of what kind of tragedy takes place that will bring Zoey back.

There are plenty of other storylines happening on the series, including how things will go for Juliet and Avery. They are currently separated as Avery takes care of their daughter. Plus, Deacon went through with his surgery, but it's unclear if he survived.

Will also publicly revealed that he is gay. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Chris Carmack (Will) made it pretty clear that even though his character bravely revealed his sexual identity, there are still more challenges to face.

"It's all gumdrops and unicorns from here on out, right? Living in a fairytale land in the clouds. Uh, no," Carmack said. "I think being out is something that was very important for Will to do because it was important for him as an individual. He has removed a roadblock from his own life and his own pursuit of happiness."

Nashville Season 4 premieres on Wednesday, September 23 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
