As Nashville came to a close on its third season, one big question lingers- is Deacon going to die?

'Nashville' Gets Renewed For A Fourth Season

On Thursday, TV Line posted an interview with Laura Benanti who plays Sadie on the series. When she was asked how she felt about Deacon's possible death in the cliffhanger, her reaction was, "He's not gonna die" with a gasp.

Fans probably don't want to get too excited just yet since that was only her reaction, not her guarantee. However, she did reveal that she is a big fan of Deacon and she will be mighty upset if he gets killed off.

Is Deacon Going To Die For Only So Much Time On 'Nashville?'

"I love Chip [Esten] so much, too," the actress said. "He's such a funny, cool person. If they kill [Deacon], I'm not gonna be okay."

It remains a mystery if the character died since there was a flatline at the hospital. It may or may not have been from him, but even if it was, it doesn't necessarily mean his life is gone for good. Showrunner Dee Johnson previously mentioned to TV Line that this situation does not always mean an official death.

"Just for the record, a flatline doesn't necessarily mean somebody doesn't get resuscitated," she said.

This could mean that Deacon's heart could have gone out, but then he might be brought back to life. Whatever happens, viewers will have to wait till this fall to find out the official truth.
