After Taylor Swift expressed her fandom for Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), Hargitay has already reached out about bringing the pop sensation on Law & Order: SVU.

In a recent interview with ET, Hargitay revealed that she had actually spoken to Swift about the possibility of her guest starring in the NBC procedural. "We just talked about it," Hargitay said. "We're going to wait until the end of the [1989 World] tour to see how it goes. But it's in the air."

Swift has already has had experience with procedurals prior to this. In 2009 she had a guest spot on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Meanwhile, Law & Order: SVU is repaying the compliment Swift paid Benson, by naming her cat after the character. Showrunner Warren Leight told ET that they were planning on naming a cat Taylor on the show.

"We're thinking of naming a squad room cat Taylor," he said.

"The squad room needs to get a cat or I need to get a cat and name it Taylor," Hargitay added, "either one."

The preview for the season 17 premiere is out now, and it is going to be one hell of a starter.

Vulture previously reported that the premiere of season 17 of the NBC procedural will be inspired by the Robert Durst story. The pop culture website has picked up on a bunch of crucial clues from the preview for the premiere that connext it to the Durst story -- from the protagonist being a very wealthy "untouchable" serial killer and also his method to dispose of the dead bodies in trashbags. So Yates is essentialy inspired by Durst.

Season 17 of Law & Order: SVU will premiere on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. (ET).
