'50 Shades of Grey' Movie Cast: Krysten Ritter Being Considered, Says She's 'Down' To Play Ana
Rumors regarding who should land the role of Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation of E.L. James' racy ready "Fifty Shades of Grey" continue at a rapid pace amongst its fans. The latest internet buzz has "Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23" actress Krysten Ritter as a possible candidate for the part of the recent college graduate.
On Tuesday night, the 31-year-old offered up her approval by re-tweeting an article that linked her to the highly anticipated movie.
To top it off, Ritter even took the time to reply to a fan that felt she was good for the highly opportunistic role by posting the following:
"Thanks! i would be down. ;)"
Other notable actresses who have come up in chatter for the female lead include Nina Dobrev of "Vampire Diaries," Emma Watson of "Harry Potter," and "Gilmore Girls'" Alexis Bledel along with several other big names.
The "Fifty Shades of Grey" premise revolves around Steele, who gets herself involved in a dominant and submissive sexual relationship with the rich and kinky Christian Grey. Through a mutual "agreement," the two delve into the world of bondage and masochism.
Judging by the precedent set by James, the leading lady playing Ana would most certainly have to bring an element of sex appeal to the casting table. However, the actress must be able to pull it off in a naïve and shy kind of way as she's described by the author as a 21-year-old virgin who is very quiet.
At this point, James and her producers attached to the future flick of the saucy novel have remained relatively coy on just how the casting process will unfold.
Only in time will it truly be revealed who ends up donning the role of Steele and who ends up working alongside her as Grey.
