Raven Symone is addressing a certain controversy that took place regarding racism in names.

Raven Symone Reveals Her Most Embarrassing Moment

According to Monday's report from People, The View co-host talked about how people tend to make discriminatory assumptions based on someone's first name where Symone said, "I'm very discriminatory against words like the ones they were saying in those names. I'm not about to hire you if your name is Watermelondrea"- this is a reference to a video with 60 of the most "ghetto names."

Symone apparently received a lot of criticism for what she said so she took to Facebook to say her comments have "spun out of control." She added that she was just talking about the video, itself, and not attacking a particular race.

Raven Symone Says People Think She's 'Being Fake'

"I have been denied many jobs because of my skin color, body size, and age," she wrote. Each time I was rejected, my self esteem was negatively effected, so I empathize with those who feel victimized by what I said. We would hope that when it comes to hiring, our names, physical appearance, sexual orientation, and age would never outweigh our qualifications, but often times, they do, that's the truth and it sucks."

Symone admitted that her statement on this controversial issue was not said in the best manner and she wants to be part of the solution, not the problem.

"My comment was in poor taste," she wrote. "My lack of empathy towards name discrimination was uncalled for."
