The latest trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released to the world Monday, giving fans a further glimpse at the highly anticipated blockbuster.

The trailer delves deeper into the plot of the film while still not giving too much away. Highlights include villainous Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) saying "nothing will stand in our way" to the decomposed helmet of Darth Vader and multiple shots of lightsaber fights. We also see cameos from Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Leia (Carrie Fisher), with gorgeous cinematography.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the seventh film in the Star Wars film series. It will take place about 30 years after Return of the Jedi, the third film in the series, which has since become known as Episode VI. The plot of The Force Awakens has been shrouded in secrecy since pre-production.

The blockbuster is directed by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, Lost) and written by Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan, who also co-wrote The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars John Bodega as reformed stormtrooper Finn, Daisy Ridley as scavenger Rey, Adam Driver as "dark warrior" Kylo Ren, Oscar Isaac as Resistance pilot Poe Dameron and many more. Actors reprising their iconic roles in The Force Awakens include Harrison Ford as Han Solo, Carrie Fisher as Leia, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Peter Mayhew as Chewbacca, Kenny Baker as R2-D2 and Anthony Daniels as C-3PO.

The film will be released in 3D, IMAX 3D and traditional 2D.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is scheduled for release in theaters on Dec. 18.
