Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander) and Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) thought they were thrown together by happenstance, but the agent and his charge have since discovered that their pasts are far more entwined then they could have ever predicted.

Could this shared history push the old neighbors beyond a brother/sister friendship? According to series creator Martin Gero, writers have not ruled out the option.

"This is a girl [Kurt's] been looking for since he was 10," series creator Martin Gero informed TV Guide. "Her disappearance defined his entire life. ... They have a very deep and powerful emotional connection - and they're both very good-looking people, so you never know. Certainly I think there's an enormous amount of chemistry and electricity between the two of them."

For the meantime, however, Jane's scattered past is front and center. Next time on Blindspot, Jane will meet up with the rest of Kurt's family as the FBI and CIA race against each other to apprehend a suspect in "Split the Law" (see video below)/

Blindspot airs Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
