The parents of "The Dark Knight" actor Heath Ledger said their granddaughter Matilda takes so much after her late father.

Ledger's parents opened up to Australia's New Idea magazine in honor of the fifth anniversary of his death. In 2008, he died of an accidental overdose in his Manhattan apartment. In the interview with the Australian publication, the actor's parents Sally and Kim said 7-year-old Matilda is like their son in many ways.

"Matilda is indeed very much like her dad - she has long limbs and similar features. However, she also possesses the beauty of her mamma - lucky girl," Sally said, and Kim added, "Matilda has the same walk as Heath and is such a respectful little kid - she calls us 'Papa' and 'Grandma Sal."

Although Heath's parents live in Australia, they still manage to maintain a great relationship with Matilda.

"Our family has the most wonderful relationship with both Matilda and Michelle. We talk frequently and visit as often as we can," Kim said.

Michelle Williams, 30, and Heath had daughter Matilda but broke up two years before he died in 2008. The actress is currently dating "Knocked Up" actor Jason Segel.

Segel even reached out to Heath's father to get their blessing to be in Matilda's life.

"Jason got on the phone and introduced himself to Kim, and then invited the Ledgers to use his home whenever they wanted to fly in from Australia to visit Michelle and Maddie," a source told Radar Online.

Williams and Segel went public with their relationship in April and rumors swirled that the couple may consider marriage after Segel leaves his hit show "How I Met Your Mother" following its upcoming eighth season.

In 2009, a year after his death, Heath won the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his performance as the joker in "The Dark Knight."
