On Friday, the actress hosted a Q&A session for Reddit AMA where she answered someone's question on the best thing a mother can do for her child. As a new mom to her son, Silas, Biel mentioned that it's important to let kids be who they want to be.

"All we have left really, truly in this world that we can control is our own integrity. I don't mean that like sexual integrity, I mean that as a human being," she said. "You choose how you live your life, what you deserve."

The actress then discussed how women are portrayed in the media and how they all deserve to be treated with dignity to show a true sign of equality.

"The media does a lot of really wonderful things to support women and women's bodies," Biel said. "And we can't discount that, and we're actively using media to do something amazing, to totally talk frankly and openly about women- MY needs, OUR needs, OUR desires."

"But I think it's easy for the media to show a prototype of what a woman should look like," she added. "That's just not how a woman should look- we're all different, we all have different shapes and sizes. We have all the same issues- we all go through the same thing every day. But we are completely different."

Biel gave birth to her son last April. The child's father is Biel's husband, Justin Timberlake.
