Fallout 4 is now available for download. But many PC gamers are claiming they already had the game installed and are well into the process of playing it.

They've done so with the help of their Virtual Private Network. If you don't know what that means, here's a short run-down:

A VPN basically allows you to create your own personal connection to the Internet from anywhere in the world, but having the appearance that it's coming from a specific location. Many people use it when visiting another country in order to utilize the Internet under the rules and regulations of their own country (think censorship, etc.).

Apparently, if you sign into a VPN and set your home location as Melbourne, Australia, you'll be able to access Fallout 4 on Steam before it's officially released in your time zone.

However, doing so may or may not be a breach of the TOS you didn't read when you signed up for Steam in the first place, and it may bring about other unforeseen consequences to your system, so do so at your own risk.

As news of this little trick spread, VPNs across the world started crashing at an alarming rate. Coming to the rescue yet again, Redditors are posting updates regarding which ones are currently working, as well as ways to make sure everyone has a chance to sign on and get their early Fallout fix in.

Doesn't anyone remember waiting for Christmas to get the newest game? Now it seems we can't even wait 24 extra hours! Oh well. A sign of the times, I guess...
