According to the Daily Mail on Wednesday, the former model accompanied her husband to the Republican debate in Milwaukee Tuesday night holding a Britannia clutch in her hands. Many critics can't help but wonder why the Slovenian-born beauty made a fashion statement that symbolizes Great Britain when her husband is running for the President of the United States.

Melania apparently held a $2,000 Britannia Skull box cluth from Alexander McQueen, with many fans and critics alike wondering what kind of statement she was trying to make.

Some comments included, "This will be a learning curve for her. She messed up just like Jackie Kennedy got mauled for wearing Chanel," while another said, "Shouldn't she be carrying a purse that represents the U.S. instead of Britain?
