Elder Scrolls Online Beta Test Open; Watch Latest Trailer
Bethesda Softworks released the latest official trailer on Tuesday for the The Elder Scrolls Online, a massive multiplayer role-playing game (MMORPG) that features various elements of the fantasy gaming franchise.
The trailer titled "Alliances" introduced the game's three warring factions: the Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall Covenant, and Ebonheart Pact. It also showed that players can expect to see familiar game archetype characters such as the barbarian, the elf mage and a rogue assassin.
Recent games in the Elder Scrolls series, such as Skyrim and Oblivion, are some of modern video-gaming's vastest and most ambitious titles, taking players into the fictional ancient continent of Tamriel. The fantasy world is filled with magic, dragons and medieval villages where gamers have a plethora of choices for adventure. The games also feature unique experiences for other games of the type such as inter-species romance and even marriage.
On the same day the trailer was launched, the announcement was made that the beta registration process has started as gamers look to get the first glance at what Bethesda is working on.
Gamers who volunteer to participate in the beta version of the game will help test out the quality and mechanics to see if it matches with the developer's intentions.
Matt Firor, the director for The Elder Scrolls Online, said the new game is going to be big and that it is finally time for the beta testers to try it out.
"The beta announcement means that we're confident that external people can get into the game and start playing it and have fun, and also give us feedback about how the game is, how sticky it is, how much fun it is, how reliable it is," Firor said to NBC News.
