Kristen Doute suffered a freak accident in late October, which left the Vanderpump Rules star in need of facial reconstruction.

Opening up about the incident in a new interview, Doute revealed she had tripped getting out of a car, and smashed her face into the bumper, leading to fractures to her eye socket, cheekbones and the front of her face.

“The pain was excruciating,” Kristen told In Touch Weekly on Wednesday. “I was unable to open my eye or chew, so I went to the hospital... I was petrified."

“A week later I went to Dr. John Layke and his partner Dr. Payman Danielpour at the Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group,” Doute continued, “The fractures were reduced and plated with several titanium plates.”

As Doute was bedridden in the weeks that followed the ordeal, her new boyfriend, Brian Carter, 31, remained at her side as she recovered, and her co-stars and friends, Scheana Marie and Stassi Schroeder visited.

“When times get tough you really find out who loves you,” she revealed.
