Mark Wahlberg and his teddy bear co-star Ted will be presenters at the Oscars later this month, telecast producers announced Feb. 1.

The two starred together in the 2012 film Ted as best friends. As a result of a childhood wish made by John Bennett (Wahlberg), his teddy bear came to life and the two were inseparable even as they grew into adults. However, their friendship got tested when Bennett's girlfriend of four years (Kunis) wanted a more serious relationship.

"We are happy to make it possible for Mark and Ted to make their debut appearance on the Oscar stage," said telecast producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. "And we won't deny that Ted used his pull with our host to get himself the booking."

"I'm excited to present an Oscar with Mark Wahlberg," Ted said. "I'm spending the next month learning to pronounce 'Quvenzhane.' "

Wahlberg has been nominated twice for an Academy Award - in 2006 for his supporting role in The Departed and in 2010 as a producer for the Best Picture nominee The Fighter. On Jan. 30, Warner Bros. gave the green light to a film adaptation of Entourage, the former HBO television series Wahlberg was the executive producer of.

The Academy Awards airs live on Feb. 24 on ABC, and the event will be held at the Dolby Theatre in the Hollywood & Highland Center. Oscar performers include Barbara Streisand, Adele and Norah Jones. Adele is rumored to perform her James Bond song Skyfall, which she won a Golden Globe for in January.

The Oscars will be hosted by Seth MacFarlane.

Star Trek: Into the Darkness costars Chris Pine and Zoe Saldana will host the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Scientific and Technical Awards on Feb. 9, and will present nine awards to 25 individuals.
