Martin Sheen is recovering well after undergoing a quadruple bypass surgery last weekend at a hospital in Los Angeles, Entertainment Tonight tells the story.

Emilio Estevez, the 75-year-old son of Sheen confidently shared on his social media account an update on his father’s health.

"My Pop!" he tweeted. "Successful proactive quadruple bypass surgery this week! A great Blessing indeed!"

Estevez, the 53-year-old actor also shared on his facebook page, The Way, a film which stars both him and his father, a message from his dad thanking fans for all the support and prayers.

"Martin extends a big thumbs up and a BIGGER heart felt 'THANK YOU' for all your well wishes and prayers. He wants to wish you a very Merry Christmas and sends you all a mighty blessing!"

Other than that, Emilio posted a lengthier message a day before his father's surgery, informing fans and family about the procedure.

"The decision to operate on his heart was a proactive one, not an emergency situation," Emilio explained. "With my mother Janet and our family by his side and under the coordination of his extraordinary team of cardiologists, doctors and nurses, my father displayed great courage, strength and humility as he took on this challenge."

"Not surprisingly, he is recovering beautifully, out of the ICU and is expected to not only be home for Christmas, but be 100% by the time he returns to work on season three of the Netflix series Grace and Frankie early next year," he added.

On another note, Martin’s other son Charlie Sheen is also dealing with health issues, which he showed up on The Today Show to confirm his son’s HIV-positive issue. According to ET, Martin spoke at CME Group's Global Financial Leadership Conference in Naples, Florida, where he revealed he had been encouraging the 50-year-old Two and a Half Men star "for several months," along with the rest of the Sheen family.

"This morning, as I watched him alone, reveal his deepest, darkest secret, I couldn't believe the level of courage I was witnessing, and that it was my son," Martin said. "I left him a message, and I said that if I had that much courage, I would change the world."
