A Pennsylvania boy is in a medically induced coma following a schoolyard fight with classmates, who he and his family claims were bullying him.

Sixth-grader and Darby Township, Pa., native Bailly O'Neil was involved in a fight four weeks ago at the Darby Township School where he was hit several times in the face by another student, according to ABC News. The assault resulted in him fracturing his nose and falling to the ground.

His parents brought their 11-year-old son, who had a concussion at the time, to a hospital in Wilmington, Del., where he was treated and released. However, his father Rob thought his son acted differently following the incident.

"He was sleeping. He was moody. He wasn't himself. He was angry a little bit. He wasn't really eating," Rob told ABC Affiliate WPVI-TV.

A few days later, Bailly started having t seizures and was hospitalized. The seizures were so bad that doctors at A.I. DuPont Hospital were forced to put him in a medically induced coma in which he currently remains, according to the news report.

A.I. DuPont Hospital would not publicly provide information on O'Neil's current health condition because of privacy laws, but Rob said he is trying "to stay strong" for his son.

"When you get into that hospital room and you're looking at him, I would trade places in a heartbeat," he said.

Rob said the boy who struck his son was suspended for two days following the assault, but that police have yet to file criminal charges. Southeast Delco School District Superintendent Stephen Butz told the news station the Darby Township School is cooperating with local police investigating the assault, adding, "We take bullying seriously."
