A video has gone viral when a drone fell from the sky and nearly landed on Austrian champion ski racer Marcel Hirscher at a ski race in Italy.

Hirscher, a four-time reigning World Cup overall champion skier, was beginning his second run during a slalom race in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy, when a drone recording the event crashed, nearly colliding with the skier.

The 26-year-old ski star went on to finish second and seemed unaffected by the drone's crash, however, he was less than pleased by the near miss.

"This is horrible," Hirscher told the Associated Press. "This can never happen again. This can be a serious injury."
