New York Knicks player Cleanthony Early was shot in the leg around 4 a.m. this morning after leaving a Queens, N.Y. strip club with an unidentified woman.

According to reports, Early and his girlfriend had just left the CityScapes Gentlemen’s Club in an Uber, when six masked men forced the vehicle to pull over and robbed and shot the 24-year-old NBA star.

"Mr. Early was robbed of two gold chains with medallions, cash and a cell phone before one of the men shot him in the right leg," the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday, claiming a spokesperson for the Elmhurst Hospital has confirmed he was treated and released.

“We are aware of what occurred with Cleanthony Early this morning and are relieved that he is not in a life-threatening situation,” said a team spokesperson in a statement. “We will not comment any further until we receive more information.”

On Twitter, a number of Early's teammates and fellow NBA players spoke out in his support.
