During an Oct. 13, 2015 court hearing, as reported by In Touch Weekly, Simms was awarded primary custody, effective immediately, and Messer was left with visitation on weekends. According to the report, Messer's ability to parent the twins had worsened in the months since Simms filed for full custody.

“Leah’s really been screwing up since then, so Corey took her back to court. The judge looked at the girls’ school records, which show that they’ve been late for school, and made the change in custody,” a family insider explained to the magazine.

Last month, Radar Online confirmed Messer had been awarded with a second custody hearing, in which she is expected to fight back against the ruling, and possibly regain custody of the girls.

Leah Messer and her family, including ex-husbands Simms and Jeremy Calvert, will return to MTV later this year for Teen Mom 2 season seven.
