Showrunner Teases Olivia Benson's Life-Threatening "Hellish Nightmare"

Most of the crew, including Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), Odafin Tutuola (Ice-T), Dominick Carisi Jr. (Peter Scanvino) are seen by Rollins' side, who is a wheel chair cradling her newborn. In other news, it was recently revealed that Benson is going to find herself in a life threatening situation in an upcoming episode, titled "Townhouse Incident" of season 17. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Leight dished about this ominous episode.

"It almost feels like it takes place in real time at gunpoint in the middle of a home invasion so it has a different clock to it," Leight said. "Benson, a little stressed, steps into a hellish nightmare, drops her guard for a nanosecond and there goes, possibly, her life."

The midseason premiere, "Catfishing Teacher," aired on January 6.
