When it comes to Amal Clooney, she's got it all: beautiful looks, smarts, and a handsome Hollywood actor by her side. And that's probably why the British beauty is being slammed left and right by her critics for everything she does, including her work as an International Human Rights Lawyer, her interviews and even her wardrobe.

Now, her fans are finally speaking up for her after she was criticized for a recent trip she made to Washington, D.C. this past week. During an interview with NBC News (via Celebitchy), Amal pointed out that while she's definitely gotten more press since she married actor George Clooney, that doesn't mean she's interested in being a celebrity.

She explained, "If there's more attention paid - for whatever reason - to that, then I think that's good. I think there is a certain responsibility that comes with that. And you know, I think I'm exercising it in an appropriate manner by continuing to do this kind of work."

And it seems like her fans agree. Some defended Amal and her work by commenting with, "I do not know why people bother hating her. She is amazing and poised," along with, "If she really was a famewhore, we'd hear A LOT more about her than we do. She was all over the place when they got married but I put that on Clooney more than Amal." The culture of hatred for successful, hard-working 'winners' on the internet is disturbing and just points to a lack of self-esteem in the hater. I admire her!"

Another fan wrote, "So refreshing to see her for what and who she is/ stand s for, rather than how she is portrayed through still photos of evening social events and outfit critiques."

Amal married George in a lavish, star-studded ceremony in Venice back in September of 2014.
