Kristen Stewart attended the 85th annual Academy Awards with the most-talked about accessory of the night - a pair of crutches.

When Stewart, 22, arrived at the Dolby Theater on Sunday, Feb. 24 she gained sympathy from reporters, fans and even a first-time Oscar winner.

Shortly after Anne Hathaway won her first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Les Miserables, the Devil Wears Prada star showed major empathy to the Twilight actress.

"Oh no!" Hathaway reportedly told Stewart.

"I know, I'm an idiot...but congratulations!" Stewart replied to her.

"Please tell me you're going on stage with those [crutches]," Hathaway said according to Associated Press.

"Nope," Stewart replied. "I'm gonna hobble."

"Well, break a leg . . . Oops!" Hathaway joked.

Stewart then explained that she had cut her foot recently after stepping on glass. "I just hope [the wound] doesn't open up right now."

Members of Stewart's glam squad opened up to the press about Stewart's foot incident.

"She had sliced her foot and everyone was worrying about would she wear heels or flats or one heel, crutches or no crutches," Stewart's manicurist Ashlie Johnson told Us Weekly. "She tried so many options, she was really a trouper."

Beau Nelson, her makeup artist, told People that the On The Road star "cut the ball of her foot, quite severely, on glass two days ago."

Stewart came to the annual event despite the use of crutches to be a presenter. She presented the Production Design Oscar onstage with Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe.

Stewart wore a beaded blush gown by Reem Acra and accessorized it with Jimmy Choo shoes and Fred Leighton jewels.

Stewart also greeted tonight's Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence on the red carpet before she made her way into the Dolby Theater.

Stewart's last film, Twilight Saga Breakin Dawn- Part 2 was not nominated for an Academy Award but it recently won seven Razzies, at the 33rd annual Golden Raspberry Awards.
