Now that word is out that Carey and Packer, who is worth roughly $4 billion, are engaged, a vintage video of Cannon is making its rounds on the Internet. In the clip he is making an appearance on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club in New York City. It dates back to 2013.

In the clip he tells hosts that he would never cheat on Carey.

During the interview he also joked that he knew Carey was always way “out of his league.” But he didn’t care. He told his closest friends that were connected to her (i.e. rapper Da Brat) that he had a crush on her. The two finally met but she waited two years before she asked him to be in one of her music videos. After that, they dated and shocked fans when they tied the knot. Fans were even more surprised that the couple announced their split recently. He officially filed for divorce back in December but they are still legally married. They have twins, Morrocan and Monroe, five, together.

Packer is also still legally married to his estranged wife, who is now dating Seal.
