Mary is about to find herself in a new battle when a bad guy joins Reign.

Chatter On Mary's Connection With Gideon On 'Reign'

On Monday, Entertainment Weekly announced that a character named Munro will come aboard the show as a "dangerous and charismatic Scottish leader who harbors a sinister grudge against the Queen of Scots."

But what's worse about the situation is that Munro is the one who is responsible for the death of Francis. So when Mary comes face to face with this man, things are bound to get chaotic.

Is Mary Going To Wed Again On 'Reign?'

Munro will be played by John Barrowman who's known for roles in Torchwood, Zero Dark Thirty and Shark Attack 3: Megalodon. He's also known for playing Malcolm on Arrow and Patrick on Desperate Housewives.

There is still plenty more to be expected after the shocking death of Francis. Based on what Megan Follows (who plays Catherine on the series) told TV Line, the story is far from over.

"Toby [Regbo who played Francis] was an amazing player, and we were all really sad although it was time for the story--he knew that," Follows said. "What's fantastic about our show is that we've really embraced change and grown; there are so many stories to tell."

The actress then mentioned how she's wanted to direct an episode since day one and it finally happened this season.

"I started pestering them pretty much right away, saying, 'I want to do this. I want to do this,'" she said. "They were very supportive and said I needed to shadow the other directors, so I learned a tremendous amount that way. I was also directing a play at the same time. I wanted to show them that I was serious."

Reign airs on Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
