Actress Carrie Fisher was hospitalized for her bipolar disorder following a bizarre performance aboard a cruise ship on Saturday.

A YouTube video was posted that showed Fisher drunk and singing while on board the Holland America Eurodam cruise ship that sailed the Caribbean last week.

Fischer, best known for her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars, was reportedly the secret celebrity headliner aboard the cruise and planned on entertaining the guests with a few songs, according to The Daily Mail.

The 56-year-old sang a couple of off-key songs in front of a bewildered audience while cleaning up a mess that her dog made during the show.

A representative for Fisher stated on Tuesday that she checked into a medical facility for treatment after the cruise was over,

A few details of Fisher's health were reported by her rep to TMZ: "There was a medical incident related to Carrie Fisher's bipolar disorder. She went to the hospital briefly to adjust her medication and is feeling much better now."

Fisher was launched into global fame with Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford in the Star Wars Trilogy that started in 1977.

She last played the character Princess Leia in "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi" which hit theaters in 1983.

Disney purchased the rights to Star Wars from director George Lucas last year and a new set of films are currently in the works with Michael Arndt writing the script and J.J. Abrams directing, according to IFC.

There is no word yet if Fisher plans on returning to star in the new sci-fi films, but her co-star Ford is rumored to be interested in returning to Star Wars, according to Fox News Latino

The former actress described her struggle with bipolar disorder and prescription drugs to the public in the memoir Wishful Drinking that was published in 2008. Fisher used the material to create her own one-woman show that helped re-launch her career as a performance-artist.
