Amber Portwood, Matthew Baier: 'Teen Mom OG' Fiance Doesn't Have Seven Kids, She Says [VIDEO]

Amber Portwood's ex-fiance, Gary Shirley, claimed during Monday's new episode of Teen Mom OG that her current fiance, Matthew Baier, had kept five children a secret.

Although Shirley showed documentation regarding his claims to Portwood during the episode, she has since denied that Matthew Baier fathered seven children, claiming he is dad to just two.

“It’s not accurate,” Portwood explained to MTV, via a report by Us Weekly on Tuesday. “He does only have five kids. Yes, I did know about them, but the other ones are older with families, and it wasn’t something that we wanted out.”

On Monday night, Portwood told Shirley she knew of just two of Baier's children, but now, it appears that she was simply protecting her soon-to-be husband, who struggled with substance abuse for several years prior to the show.

“His past was horrible. He wasn’t a good person back then,” she said with Baier sitting next to her. “He was a womanizing user. He was an addict, and that’s not an excuse, but that’s the type of person he was … We went through a rough patch because of this, because I had no trust in him anymore. We had to rebuild our trust again in our relationship.”
