Showrunner Teases 'Real Game-Changer' In Upcoming Episode

The new villain introduced in the latest episode, 'Unchained,' of the series was The Calculator aka Cutter and toward the end of the episode he was revealed as being Felicity's father. It is a big surprise for Felicity and her mother, Donna (Charlotte Ross).

Mericle spoke about how the mother and daughter will react to this sudden change in their lives. She suggested that while Donna will not be very receptive to his return as she is well aware of his past and his nature, Felicity might be hopeful.

Oliver Queen's Mayoral Campaign Posters Revealed

"Well, Donna will be very clear - she knows who he is and what he's capable of, and she wants nothing to do with him. But Felicity, we really wanted to play the real of someone who is in her twenties and really has not known their father, and what kind of emotions would that bring up for somebody in her position," she said. "I think she's really conflicted. She wants to believe that her father loves her and that he has a vested interest in who she is and knowing her and having a relationship with her, and she feels very torn about that - even though she knows right off that bat, at the top of [next episode], who he really is."

'Unchained' air on Feb. 3 on The CW.
