'Doctor Who' Season 10: Steven Moffat To Create Twelve's Last Episode? Showrunner Speaks Out

Clara Oswald (Jenna Louise Coleman) has exited the TARDIS, and Twelve (Peter Capaldi) will get to partner up with a brand new character when season 10 begins. Unfortunately, the powers that be have yet to cast the roll.

"We've just had some brief talks about it, we haven't actually chosen someone yet - that I know of," Capaldi told The Radio Time. "Perhaps someone has been chosen but I would expect that I would meet them before we finalized all that. So we're looking for someone different."

When Steven Moffat does settle on a new star, fans can expect the tone of the show to shift with the casting change.

"I'm still [in] the quite early stages [of casting]-but very clear on the change we're going to make to the tone of the show," the showrunner told Digital Spy. "It's not just casting a supporting character. It's not. It's the lead or the co-lead, and it will become their story. So, it's a huge, massive thing."
