In most cases, being a celebrity pays. However, no matter how rich they are, not all famous names can get themselves out of trouble. Some aren't as lucky as Justin Bieber or Jay Z who managed to pay their way into avoiding jail time.

Khloe Kardashian

Khloe has had her fair share of run-ins with the law. After violating her DUI probation, she was sentenced to 30 days in federal prison. Lucky for her, she was only locked up for a measly three hours. "There was a bomb threat," People reports Kardashian saying. "They put me in solitary confinement and the warden came down to talk to me and said, 'You're the one causing all the problems here ... There are all these bomb threats, and we think they're because of you.'"

Mark Wahlberg

One of the former bad boys of Hollywood was once charged with assault and attempted murder back in 1996. He allegedly attacked a Vietnamese man with a metal stick. Wahlberg was sentenced to two years in prison but was released after serving 45 days of his sentence.

Martha Stewart

Everyone's favorite homemaker didn't always have the cleanest of slates. She served five months in the big house followed by two years of supervised release. Her crime? Obstruction of an agency proceeding as well as lying to federal investigators after she was accused of corporate fraud.

Christian Slater

The Pump Up the Volume star had to spend five months in jail back in 1998 after beating his girlfriend while he was reportedly drunk and high. The actor also managed to fight the cops who found him screaming in the hallway.

Michelle Rodriguez

The Fast & Furious actress doesn't have the cleanest criminal record either. She once violated her DUI probation and had to serve 18 days in jail. On top of that, she neglected to attend her educational hours and commit to her community service.

Lil Wayne

Back in 2007, the rapper did his time for five months and like Stewart, followed by two years of supervised release. He was reportedly in possession and smoking marijuana in his tour bus.

Lil Kim

The hip hop singer was sentenced to a year and a day behind bars back in 2005, along with a $50,000 fine for allegedly lying to a federal grand jury to protect her friends involved in a 2001 shooting, which happened outside a Manhattan radio station. After serving 10 months of her sentence, she was released.

Robert Downey Jr.

Downey had it rough during his younger years in Hollywood. Back in 1999, he served a year of his three-year sentence at the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility and State Prison. He reportedly skipped a drug test during his probation sentence that was given to him after he trespassed into a neighbor's home and fell asleep on a bed there while he was high.

Lindsay Lohan

The troubled Disney star has been trying to mend the pieces of her career together since her very public drug addiction controversy. She spent between 84 minutes and 14 days on several stints behind bars. Her crime? Misdemeanor theft and violating probation.

Chace Crawford

The Gossip Girl heartthrob didn't have it as tough as some on this list. He did, however, spend a few hours behind bars after being found with less than 2 ounces of marijuana while sitting in a parked car.
