The Purge: Election Year is an upcoming 2016 social science fiction action horror film written and directed by James DeMonaco, a sequel to 2014 film The Purge: Anarchy and a third installment in The Purge series. The film stars Frank Grillo, Elizabeth Mitchell, Mykelti Williamson, Betty Gabriel, Edwin Hodge, Kyle Secor, Joseph Julian Soria and Liza Colón-Zayas.

Fifteen years after choosing not to kill the man who killed his son, former police sergeant Leo Barnes (Grillo) has become head of security for Senator Charlene Roan (Mitchell), the front runner in the next Presidential election due to her vow to eliminate the Purge. On the night of what should be the final Purge, a betrayal from within the government forces Barnes and Roan out onto the street where they must fight to survive the night.

The film is set to be released on July 1.
