If there's one thing for certain, it's that Amal and George Clooney are not fans of Donald Trump. In fact, the Hollywood star recently opened up about the Republican Presidential candidate hopeful and how he thinks all the hype surrounding him will soon fade away.

Why Is Amal Clooney So Hated In America? 

In a new interview with The Telegraph on Friday, George - who once hinted that he would one day run for a political office himself - says he's confident enough to believe that his fellow Americans would never vote someone like 'The Donald' into the White House.

He said, "This is an election cycle and we tend to go through some craziness," he says when I ask about 'The Donald'. "The idea that this xenophobic, fascist theory that we are going to ban Muslims from our country or we are going to kick 12 million Mexicans back down to the border and build a wall they are going to pay for - none of that is ever going to happen."

The Hollywood hunk added, "This country isn't going to do that. All this chatter is going to be going around for another two or three months but eventually all the insanity will stop and we will start to talk about issues that really matter."

In the past, George has been a fervent supporter of President Obama and current Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

So far, Trump himself has not made any comments about George's interview.
