Paul Wesley and Phoebe Tonkin are dating in real life and making appearances on connected TV shows, but they never actually worked together- until now.

Paul Wesley Captures Phoebe Tonkin Kissing A Giant Tortoise

On Friday, Entertainment Tonight posted an interview with Wesley who stars on CW drama The Vampire Diaries. His character Stefan made a crossover appearance on spinoff The Originals where Tonkin plays Hayley.

Wesley dished on what it was like finally getting to share a scene with his real-life girlfriend, something that turned out to be pretty simple in the end.

"It was crazy, I had never worked with her before," the actor said. "It was very funny, we talked about it, but we literally never rehearsed [the scene] or ran it. We just said, 'Let's just do it when we get to set' because otherwise it would just be awkward, and it was cool. It actually wasn't in the least bit uncomfortable or awkward. It was just kind of like we just did it and we were both in it and we both committed to it. It was nice, it was funny."

It turned out to be an epic episode, something that Wesley was proud to be a part of and hoped fans would feel satisfied.

"It just feels really natural," he said. "I think there are some good brotherhood and kinsmanship moments between Klaus and Stefan. I think that [fans] are going to get their Caroline and Klaus fix to some degree."
